WHAT HAPPENED REUNION 2005
What a Blast we had!
It was a hot summer day July 23, 2005
when the Classmates of Nevada High School Class of 1975 met for our 30 year reunion.
It was a big challenge trying
to locate our classmates after 30 years. With all the address changes, Maiden Name Changes, Divorces and remarrying of classmates. It is hard to find a classmate with any of these changes. We even had men that go by different names. So the challenge
of locating classmates was a big task.
We had a wonderful committee which
consisted of Deanna Morris Conway, Cindy Wescoat Johnson, Sonny Butler, Kathy Cox, Max Wagner, Barbara Jadlot Renwick,
Sherrill Moore Brooks and Nancy Davis Walker that worked hard to make a successful reunion.
We even enlisted helpers on our
quest trying to locate classmates.
By way of internet and (foot helpers)
classmates willing to go door to door to see if this is the classmate we were looking for.
Those helpers were Bunny Best Sherrill, Doug Cherry, Susan Droney. We
even had informers to help us they included Sally Dilly Jones, Kathy Hamilton Spann, Annette Prichett Crews, Peggy O’Neal
Ellis, Marsha Vinson Burris and Susan Story Beeman call us after we located these six to say I think I know where you can
reach so and so.
We had a surprise for the entire
class we found our foreign exchange student that lived in Cyprus,
Mehmet Terzioglu. He still lives in the Republic of
Cyprus.
With a lot of secrets we managed
to keep it our BIG SURPRISE for the reunion events. It took several days of tying
to locate Mehmet we used such sites as Classmates.com and Web Dectective.com and Zabba Search.com along with several other
websites to find Mehmet and a lot of our classmates.
On some of these sites you can
find their address along with phone numbers.
We had very special helpers to
keep his arrival secret for the reunion. A very special family Mr. & Mrs.
Crowe for housing and entertaining Mehmet and Hulya (his wife) while they were here for the reunion. Mehmet was so excited about seeing his host family again after 30 years. At the reunion meal we presented
Mr. & Mrs. Crowe a toy bed as a reminder of Mehmet staying in there home.
Our weekend was filled with lots
to do, it started off on Friday nite with a mixer at Caza Asteca for snacks and drinks. As the evening
was starting to end some did not want it to end as they were having such a good time, they went to Candlecreek RV Park and
went swimming.
Then on Saturday around 11:00 am we gathered for a picnic at the CandleCreek RV park . Then on Saturday
evening we met at the Country Club for our Main Event. We had excellent food,
Great Entertainment by Roger Rafferty which was a dj in the 70’s, prizes to be given away and donated by several which
included 3-M, Vinyards Farm and Home (Radio Shack) The Cabin and Day Spa, Rineharts Jewelry and several classmates.
Our special guests that attended
Saturday night included Mr. & Mrs. Darrell Burt our math teacher and class sponsor from 1975 we presented him with a calculator. Mr. Des Dehon our other class sponsor could not attend because of health reasons but
was not forgotten we gave his son Jeff (which is in our graduating class) a little car as he was one of our driver’s
Ed teacher in 1975.
Also Mr. & Mrs. Amon Hizer
our English teacher in 1975 we presented a book of Great Expectations and Mr. Bill Wynn our principal and I bet your can guess
what we gave to him a PADDLE.
The evening was enjoyed by all
that attended. It was the best reunion
we ever had described by some classmates that attended.
To the committee that worked so
very hard to make our 30th reunion one to remember “Thank you”.
It was a great success and something you all should be very proud of. I enjoyed seeing and visiting with everyone and
can’t wait to see the photos. Again, thanks for a job well done! I know it wasn’t easy, but you all
made it great for all those that attended! See everyone in 2010!
Annette Crews
The committee did a great job! I really enjoyed the event! Of course I
would have liked to spend more time talking with everyone. I think we got a few pictures. I will try to get them
to you. It was outstanding evening!
Doug Cherry
I agree with Doug. The preparation was outstanding and impressive. I
really would have liked to visit longer, too, but at least now I have email addresses.... Thank you. Very much.

All the planners of this year’s
reunion deserve a big round of applause!!! The reunion was allot of fun, and I enjoyed seeing everyone again after 20 years and some folks 31 years. I will be looking forward to
the 2010 reunion and seeing
everyone again. Had
a WONDERFUL time .

I hate it that I couldn't make
it to the reunion but it's terrific to read the e-mails and just see everyone’s names again after all these years.
I plan on being there in 2010 until then my e-mail is on the class site hope to hear from you all. Hope you are all
well and happy.
Sincerely
Debbie Winder
Dear Nancy, I just wanted to take the time to thank you
and the rest of the committee for an excellent reunion. The committee really made everything so easy and relaxing.
My husband and I had a wonderful time. It was like 30 years hadn't gone by at all. It was so nice to visit
with everyone. Again,
thank you for a wonderful time. You really do throw one heck of a party.
Always,
Peggy Lewis Schenker

You read it here, this best reunion
ever. And I totally agree. Several
months went into planning the reunion with locating everyone. We had a total
of 212 classmates in our graduating class. And along with trying to locate everyone
with phone calls and internet available we found all but 7 of our classmates and have leads on 3 of them. We are still trying to find Kim Alex, James Bain, Tammy
Carty, Steve Cornell, Debbie Elliott, Penny Jenkins and Lloyd Lewis.
So if anyone knows their whereabouts
or how to get a hold of a family member or friend please let us know at our email address at
nhs_1975@yahoo.com
or call 417-667-6015.
It would be greatly appreciated.
It would be FANTASTIC for
us just to be able to say WE FOUND EVERYONE OF OUR CLASSMATES ! ! !
We have also set up a INSTANT
CHAT on yahoo instant messenger ! Alot of us are chatting at 6:30 am over our computers and coffee cups.
You can download yahoo instant
messenger at
http://messenger.yahoo.com/
after you download it add
contacts to your list look in group for yahoo id's or the address book given to you at reunion.
So please visit our website and
stay in touch with the NHS Class of 75.
We can’t wait for our next
reunion, we all have been keeping in touch threw email and yahoo instant messenger.
It feels like we are back in High School passing notes again. Some want
to meet once a month just to keep in Touch.
